Atelier:
Our Atelier lets our children explore their curiosity and imagination as they become familiar with different forms of art and art mediums.
They learn that in this room, although they are still free to express their own ideas, they can take part in art experiences that are at a deeper level.

Blocks:
Our children learn to create structures that represent their own ideas both from real life and their imagination. They learn to recognise and name the different shaped blocks and the way these shapes fit in with each other.
The children learn that when working with others to build a structure they need to share space, resources and ideas with them. By learning to communicate with others they can work together without conflict. They learn to use mathematical language to describe their structures, their shape size and height.

Drawing Area:
Our children learn to manipulate their fingers and hands so that when the time comes for them to learn to write they will be able to hold a pencil comfortably.
They are free to experiment mark making in their own way using different materials. That way they become able to rotate and move their hand so they can control where they want their marks made. This will help them form letters when they are ready to learn to write.
They can use their imagination to create pictures that mean something to them, even if they are not recognisable to anyone else.

The children learn to use their imagination as they create their own unique designs and models of things that interest them
htmlText_743D7688_6735_C42A_41CF_69CEC47C15E3.html =
Quiet & Sensory Room:
Children are exposed to early reading skills as they watch and listen to stories. Having stories read to me can make me feel safe and secure when the adults in the nursery read to me.
It helps make a link to home so cuddling up and having a book read to me can relax me if I feel upset. They will build up their vocabulary and learn new words and concepts within the stories they hear. They develop their imagination skills when listening to stories which interest them and this increases as they listen to less familiar stories.
htmlText_75B32488_6714_442A_41B5_3EB95818DF48.html =

Woodwork Area:
The children can use their imagination to plan and create objects which they fix onto the wood and loose parts. The children learn that creating and completing their own creations make them feel happy. It raises their self-esteem, builds their confidence and encourages them to try new things.
They persevere through any problems they have and work out ways to finish their constructions.
